Cache Summary

Blood Moon Rising

A unique place from which to view the bustle of one of the world's most frenetic cities.

Cache Notes

The question is - what do you find at this location, and what is its date?  E-mail your answers to this autoresponder, don't post them here even if encrypted.  (Check your spellings.)

The nickname of this cache comes from the remarkable sight of a red moon rising between buildings south of this objective.  This being the first night of hostilities in Iraq, I wonder of the moon knows something we don't?  Unfortunately I don't carry 4000 pounds worth of professional camera around with me, so the photograph doesn't do the experience justice.  It gave me cold shivers.

To claim the find, you first have to discoverthe identity of the only non-permanent feature in the vista which is identified by name at this location.  If you at the correct location, there will be no ambiguity, so if the answer is not clear, or the question vague you should assume you aren't in the right place.  Answers by e-mail *ONLY* and wait for your for your confirmation to post as your claim.  (Remember to check your spellings.)  Absolutely no posting of answers, encrypted or otherwise.

As this is a virtual cache, please remember to have your answer confirmed before logging.

As with most of the other caches I have set, this one is for the view.  Sunrise/set can be spectacular - and indeed has inspired a famous songi in the 1960s.  A clear day is fascinating for the activity, and night for technological splendour of the surrounding lights of this heaving city.

Following a suggestion the co-ordinates might be out by up to 100 feet, co-ordinates have verified with a very slight adjustment to an EPE of 22 feet.  (NB: If you are standing at 51:30.498N, 0:06.986W you are in the wrong place to find the answer.)

You're in the wide open here, with a limited set of options.  You shouldn't need a clue!

Additional hints

Too easy by half.  Make like a tourist.  If you need a clue, then you're going to have to grovel to me for it...
