What's with all these "add friends" pyramid schemes? FFS - the whole point of the friends list is to keep tabs on bands or your friends (as in "maintain a healthy intercommunication with", not as in "maintain an obsessional level of surveillance over") or make links with other members who one happens to find through common interests, not gather hoardes of random people just for the sake of numbers in some dick-slapping contest. With MySpace approaching 70 million members, no-one can ever "know" them all anyway, so what is the point? Surely better to keep your friends to the select few who are friends.
I can understand the motive for the perpetrators of financial pyramid schemes - there's a potential monetary benefit to be gained (provided you have no morals), but adding so-called friends to your MySpace offers no material benefit whatever. Perhaps I'm being dense, but I just don't get it.
