Evidence of spring in the garden for SatScenes.

@SatScenes 2014-04-12: Spring, springing...

My favourite part of the garden...

Several photographs taken on the day, but the one I wanted didn't work, so instead you get my favourite part of the garden, right close up.  The lilac blossom.

The poor lilac tree is looking very scrawny after the idiot decimated it last year.  I didn't think it was going to have much blossom this year, which would be a shame.  It's the one thing in my garden that I care about.  Thankfully, although not as full as usual, there is some.

The lilac coming out - particularly the pink lilac - and the heady scent reminds me of the start of childhood summers spent in the garden at home and at my grandparents', and of trees and swings; of planting beans, and lighting small bonfires with magnifying glasses, and tents, and getting mucky ... well just all sorts.
